Holiday destination

Der Ort Grimersum liegt ca 5 km von Greetsiel, und 15 km von Norddeich und Emden entfernt.

Der Trockenstrand in Upleward ist ebenfalls 5 km entfernt.

Der kleine Ort, mit hübsch erhaltenem Dorfcharakter, zählt zu den Langwurtendörfern, die im Mittelalter an den Ufern von Meeresarmen als Handelsplätze für die friesischen Bauernkaufleute angelegt worden sind.

Teile der Burgstatt mit Grabresten sind noch erhalten und über einen Spazierweg begehbar.
