Holiday destination
Portovaltravaglia is a small, tranquil town (about 2400 inhabitants) on the eastern shore of central Lake Maggiore. It features an old town center with narrow alleys and a plane tree-lined lakeside promenade with a small marina, playground, and pebble beach. Nearby is Luino with its famous weekly market (on Wednesdays) and Laveno with a cable car up to Sasso del Ferro.

Arriving by car from the north:
• Highway via Gotthard or San Bernardino to the exit "Bellinzona-Sud", then take N13 towards Locarno / Lago Maggiore
• Drive along the eastern shore road of Lago Maggiore, crossing the border at Zenna and through Luino to Porto Valtravaglia
• After entering the town, the road makes a slight right turn
• After the right turn, take the first cross street on the left into Via Roma (one-way street, directly opposite the supermarket)
• The tobacco shop (Bar-Ricevitoria) is located after about 70m on the right side at the first shops

Host informationThe house belongs to the Obwegeser family from Zurich (Jörg and Tine with Kathrin, Carla, and Luisa). We used to spend practically all our holidays at Villa Altipiano. Since the children have grown up and are also interested in other holiday destinations, the house is not used as often as before. To ensure that Villa Altipiano does not remain empty, the lower apartment is rented out. We are pleased to be able to offer this extraordinary holiday home to others as well.

Wir fahren seit Jahren immer mal wieder an den Lago Maggiore, aber so eine tolle Unterkunft hatten wir noch nie. Das Haus, der Garten, der Pool und die traumhaft ruhige Lage mit einer unglaublich schönen Aussicht, lassen keine Wünsche offen. Der Kontakt mit dem Vermieter, als auch mit dem Verwalter war extrem freundlich und zuverlässig. Das Preis-/Leistungsverhältnis passt absolut. Wir werden sicherlich wieder buchen - aber nächstes mal unbedingt einen längeren Aufenthalt ;-)

Wir sind sehr zufrieden mit der Unterkunft. Wir haben uns von der ersten Minute an wohlgefühlt. Die Wohnung ist sehr geräumig. Zum Kochen ist alles vorhanden, was man braucht. Es gibt eine Kapselkaffemaschine und keine Filterkaffeemaschine. Das muss man halt berücksichtigen. In den anderen Bewertungen wurde oft kritisiert, dass die Betten mit einem Kabelbinder zusammen gehalten wurde. Uns hat es nicht gestört.
Ansonsten ist noch zu erwähnen, dass der Ausblick ist sensationell ist.
Der Verwalter ist sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend.
Das einzigste, was etwas gestört hat, war der Stromausfall hin und wieder.
Aber das liegt wohl an der Gegend und hat weniger mit dem Haus zu tun.
Das Haus können wir nur weiterempfehlen und kommen gerne wieder.
