Our vacation apartment is an ideal starting point for tours to Berlin (by car approx. 30 km/35 min. to the well-known Berlin avenue "Kurfürstendamm") and to sights in the surrounding area of Potsdam.

Our vacation apartment is located in the outskirts of Potsdam, near the heathlands recreation area "Döberitzer Heide" and "Karl's Erlebnishof" (old fashioned farm buildings including snack-bars, a coffeeshop, sale of (mostly) regional agricultural products, etc.). Kids do love this place for its playgrounds and farm animals.
New Palace (park of Sansscouci) approx. 13 km, Potsdam downtown approx. 15 km, park + ride from main station Elstal (about 20 minutes to the city of Berlin).
Apart from the many sights it Potsdam, we recommend, for example, the following arttractive destinations: Inselstadt ("island town") of Werder, the castles in Caputh, Petzow, and the Ribbeck mansion, the monastery of Lehnin, the historic site of Beelitzer Heilstätten (large area, embedded in a forest landscape and harbouring lots of old brickstone buildings (1898-1930), originally serving as santorium), the well-known church of Sacrow (on the banks of river Havel), the historic quarter of Berlin-Spandau and many others.
We recommend arriving by car. Some sat navs find us only when entering the town "Kartzow" (instead of "Potsdam"). Should you have no sat nav we could send you directions by email. In this case we need to know your location of departure.

Your landlady and landlord, Simone and Tom Sonntag, were born in 1964 and 1963, respectively. They got married on the Baltic Sea islanf of Hiddensee in 1987. Simone works is headmistress of the Potsdam Waldorf School. Tom had been, among other things, a senior manager heading the Tax & Accounting department of asteelmaker for more than 16 years. From 2017 onwards he acts as self-employed consultant. In their (little) leisure time Simone and Tom like going to the theatre or to classical concerts. They enjoy travelling, hiking, camping. The gardening and maintenance of their "estate" takes a lot of time but brings great joy as well. The grown-up sons, named Clemens and Julius, live in Berlin. The house, harbouring the rental apartment, was built in 1995.
