You'll find a varied coastline that offers pastime snorkellers, divers and those who love to swim everything they wish for. Kilometre-long sandy beaches alternate with small bathing bays giving way to jagged cliff ledges that drop down into the deep blue sea.
By car, you'll reach the undeveloped beaches in less than 2 minutes (approx. 500 metres) and there's even a footpath to the ocean and a bus service during the summer. The bus stop is just a few metres away. Your holiday home is quietly situated at the edge of a field. In the immediate vicinity you'll find wonderful fish restaurants, pizzerias, wineries, "Masserias", weekly markets (every day) and pretty, pristine little port towns such as Porto Cesareo or Compomarino.
If you come from South Germany, there are two routes. One leads via Stuttgart or Karlsruhe on the A5 into Switzerland, through the Gotthard tunnel and on to Bellinzona and Lugano to the border crossing point Chiasso. In Italy, you travel via Como - Milan - Modena - Bologna - Rimini - Ancona - Pescara - Bari - Taranto. The other route goes through Austria: Munich - Innsbruck - Brenner Pass - Verona - Modena - Ancona, then you follow the direction as described above. The motorway A14 (Adriatica) ends in Massafra. In Taranto, you'll see a signpost to the motorway going to Brindisi/Grottaglie. On the Tarent-bypass, turn onto the road towards S. Giogio Ionico. Right before the town, turn right towards Faggiano and on to Crispieri, Lizzano, Torricella, Maruggio and from there towards Avetrana.
