Cabanas, in the Ria Formosa Nature Reserve, is a still functioning fishing village where fishermen go out to sea every day. In 300 m small shuttle boats for €1.50 there/back to the offshore island with the 12 km long sandy guarded beaches. Supermarket, market, restaurants, cafes, post office, bank and bus are within walking distance. Bicycle and car rental on site. Car is not needed. It is 2 km to the train station.
Many interesting excursions, Spain 25km, Seville 150km highway and Tavira, named Venice of the Algarve, 7km. Hiking, orange groves, wine, salt flats and bird watching.
Faro Airport, 35 km, taxi 30 min. booked with us 50 € or bus and train 12 €. Car parking in the streets close by.

Das Haus ALOE habe ich in 2 Jahren nach eigenen Vorstellungen, ohne Architekten, gebaut. Die Ausbildung, wie sie in Deutschland üblich ist, wird hier nicht praktisiert, dann können sie sich eine Vorstellung machen, mit welchen "Fachmännern" ich mich herumschlagen musste. Eine Eigenschaft, die es mir möglich machte, dieses Projekt zu Ende zu bringen war meine GEDULD! Ein Haus mit einem persönlichen Charakter, auch gerne von nur einem Pärchen genutzt!
