Picturesquely situated behind the dike, it's not hard to imagine that this was once a harbor on the Zuiderzee dating back to 1288. Due to land reclamation, it now lies in the heart of the West Frisian landscape. Kolhorn is rightfully a state-protected village with a view today. Tip! Along the village dike, viewpoints have been created that offer a beautiful view of the polder.
If you visit Kolhorn in the summer, don't miss the three night markets. The 250 market stalls are arranged in a long line throughout the entire village and shine in a magical light at dusk. And if you want to experience how the fishermen used to sail over the former Zuiderzee? Then take a boat trip in the original Langedijker Rondkont.
