The gîtes of the Ferme des Kerdes and Denneville are located just 3 kilometres from coast known as the Côte des Iles! Many international guests are also interested in the D-Day landing beaches on the northern coast of La Manche, an easy 45-minute drive from the Ferme des Kerdes. The historic Mont St Michel is another popular day-trip! Cycling: Bikes can be hired locally in Portbail, with prices typically starting at around €12/day or €38/week. We are happy to organise your bike-hire in advance of your stay. Water sports: The Ecole de Voile at Portbail offers courses in sailing, land sailing and kayaking. Market days: Portbail – Tuesday; La Haye du Puits – Wednesday; Carteret – Thursday; Barneville Bourg – Saturday; Barneville Plage – Sunday, July and August only.Visit their website for more details.

Host informationBoth children of French fathers, Stefan was born and raised near Nuremberg, Germany and Sophie in Melbourne, Australia. Having met and fallen in love over pichets of wine in the brasseries of Paris, we married in Denneville, France, in June 2011. In October 2012, we moved permanently to Normandy to take over the management of the gîtes of Ferme des Kerdes and benefit from a country lifestyle, family and friends living in the area. We live 5km from the cottage, so we are not too far if you need us! We look forward to introducing you to our little patch of Normandy!

Ein einfaches Cottage aber alles vorhanden. Super war der eingezäunte Zaun. Vermieter war sehr nett und hat uns Insidertipps gegeben. Gestört hat uns eigentlich nur, dass das Elternbett nur eine Decke hatte. Bäckerei ist in gut 10 min zu Fuß zu erreichen.

Die Normandie stand schon lange auf unserer Reiseliste und wir haben in der Unterkunft einige wunderbare Tage als Familie (inklusive Hund) verbracht. Die Gastgeber waren sehr sympathisch und hilfsbereit und standen mit Rat und Tat zur Seite. Den Kindern hat es gefallen, dass sie im Garten toben konnten, wir Großen haben die ruhige Lage genossen. Wenige Minuten bis zum Sandstrand, zu Supermärkten, kleinen Bars bzw. Restaurants - und all das in der einzigarten Natur der Normandie mit Wiesen, Hecken, Meer und meer. Wir kommen gerne wieder!
