Holiday destination

Kamilari is the ideal base from which to explore the lovely plain of Messara, its beautiful beaches, like Kalamaki beach (about 3km), Kommo beach (about 3 km) or Matala beach (about 6 km) and the archaeological sites Festos, Agia Triada, Gortys (within 10 km) . Kamilari is an unhurried place with authentic tavernas and kafenions, as well as super markets and a butcher shop.

Getting there

Kamilari is located 70 km south-west of Heraklion and the airport is approximately 1,15 hours away.

By car you drive from the airport on the highway to Iraklion/Rethimno/Chania. Then you turn right towards Mires (Moires). This road leads directly to the small town of Mires. Before entering the place you turn to the left in the direction of Pombia/Petrokefali, Pitsidia /Matala. You go from there about 10 to 15 minutes to Kamilari.

Traumurlaub trotz Corona

Wir haben lange gebangt ob dieser Urlaub stattfindet, trotz CORONA, aber ab 1.7.20 hatte Griechenland wieder geöffnet, JUHU. Alle Online Formulare ausgefüllt, ging es am 20.7. mit Condor von Leipzig nach Heraklion. Bei der Einreise wurden wir mit unserem QR Code sofort durchgewunken. Mietwagen abgeholt und ab zur Villa Petra. Da wir letztes Jahr in der Villa Elia waren, haben wir die Villa Petra schon mal begutachtet. Wir haben alles richtig gemacht und uns super wohlgefühlt. Das Haus ist super und genau wie beschrieben. Maria und Xenophon haben uns bereits erwartet und uns mit einem Geschenke Korb empfangen, Gemüse, Olivenöl und natürlich der Raki. Tolles Haus in sehr schöne Lage

Wir wurden herzlich empfangen von Maria und Xenophon. Das Haus ist geräumig und mit Liebe zum Detail eingerichtet. Der Pool mit Ausblick ist traumhaft. Der kurze Weg, ab von der Hauptstaße, zum Haus ist aber schlecht befahrbar. Schön wäre einen Handtuchwechsel innerhalb eine Woche. Das Dorf Kamilari- mit leckere Tavernen - und der Strand Kalamaki sind top. Wir hatten eine tolle Woche im Süden von Kreta und können das Haus wärmstens weiter empfehlen.

Tolles Ferienhaus

Wir wurden von Maria und Xenophon sehr warm und freundlich empfangen. Sehr gespannt waren wir auf unser Feriendomizil. Und unsere hohen Erwartungen wurden voll und ganz erfüllt. Sehr ruhig gelegen bietet das Ferienhaus allen denkbaren Komfort. Es ist absolut neuwertig, geräumig und doch gemütlich eingerichtet.
Das absolute Highlight jedoch ist der Pool, der wunderbar für Abkühlung sorgt. Täglich haben wir das genossen.
Keinerlei Probleme hatten wir am Haus mit Mücken o.ä., wie von anderen berichtet wurde.
Allein der kurze Weg von der Straße zum Haus könnte etwas komfortabler gestaltet sein, ein geländegängiger PKW ist hier nützlich.
Auch das kleine Dörflein Kamilari bietet alles was man erwartet, sehr nette Tavernen.
Alles in allem ein toller Urlaub, für uns das erste Mal auf Kreta, super!
