Our lovely house "La Vallée", built with natural stone, once served as an inn during the 18th Century. Today this house has 3 apartments for our guests and can accommodate a total of 13 people. Part 1 (advertised here) can accommodate 4 people.
The apartments have been decorated in the typical style of Normandy. Exposed stone walls add to the authenticity of the house. The furniture and décor includes unique antiques from the region, which we have lovingly restored.
Our holiday house lies in the old village of Ste. Honorine, nestled in a valley (La Vallée). From this quaint town, a narrow meandering road descends gently to the sea, a mere 500 m away. The breath-taking sandy beaches of Omaha Beach are only 3 km away and can be reached on foot or by bicycle on a charming coastal path.
The apartments feature artworks from local artist "Gérard" from the nearby historical town of Bayeux and lend a special charm to our apartments.
Every morning, the local baker delivers freshly baked goods, like baguettes and croissants to the front door of our holiday houses.

Numerous museums exploring the history of the Normandy landings on Omaha beach are only a few hundred metres away from the house. The historical town of Bayeux is definitely worth a visit. The Cathédrale Notre-Dame de Bayeux is one of the most important sacred monuments in Normandy. The Bayeux Tapestry was made in the 11th Century and depicts important historical scenes. It is almost 70(!) metres in length and UNESCO has declared it a part of the World’s Cultural Heritage.
The breath-taking beaches of Omaha Beach stretch over more than 6 km. These beaches are perfect for rest and relaxation, but also offer a large selection of water sports for the more adventurous!
For little explorers, adventure awaits! On the beach of Ste. Honorine, the search for caves, sea life, fossils and sea shells guarantees hours of bliss. Young fishing enthusiasts make memories at the breakwater in Port-en-bessin or visit the mill museum in Bayeux.
If you are looking for peace and relaxation, this is the ideal place to unwind. Long stretches of deserted beaches, sleepy fishing towns and local culinary highlights show that this idyllic countryside is untouched by commercial tourism.
Explore the dreamy countryside of Calvados on bicycles, visit the historical town of Bayeux with it´s famous tapestry and cathedral, discover the historic traces of the Normandy landings at Omaha Beach, visit the fabled Mont Saint Michel or enjoy Madame Catherine´s home made culinary specialities with ingredients from her own garden.
We recommend to travel by your own car, as public transport might be poor in some areas, especially if you want to reach the beaches.
