Not far away further nice excursions can be performed: Fulda with nice old city and several events - Theater & Music - as well as Bad Neustadt, Bischofsheim, Fladungen, Bad Kissingen and Bad Brückenau with thermal bath and nice downtowns.
Hiking is possible nearby in the Red and Black Moor (everglade) as well as on the Wasserkuppe, Maulkuppe or Kreuzberg. The Guckaisee (lake) and several Swimming pools are available to take a bath.
In winter time several ski regions can be reached within 10-20 min.
