Inland from the Mediterranean beaches, less than an hour by car from the Spanish border, surrounded by vineyards, is our beautiful natural stone house, a former sheep fold. As part-time city-dwellers (Berlin/Munich) we are overjoyed to be able to call this hideaway our own. We have recently been renting out a small but beautiful guest room in the first floor of the house, which is equipped with a queen size (160 cm wide) double bed. The room faces west, with a view of the countryside. You also have a small bathroom with toilet and shower at your disposal. Breakfast is served on the terrace or in any other place of your choosing in the almost 3 hectare grounds. As we cook every day, you can also have lunch with us. The price of the meal will be for a reasonable price. If you would like to enjoy an evening dining under the fabulous starry sky, we can cater for you – price available on demand. We can give you tips for excursions or restaurants too. We produce solar electricity, the water comes from our own well, and we grow vegetables in our own vegetable patch in the hills. Although it's very rural, don't worry: there is a good internet connection. A ten minute walk away, in the wine-producing village, you can find everything you need: a well-stocked supermarket, a post office, a filling station (gas station), an ATM, a chemist and a very good medical practice, as well as a small public swimming baths. The last largely unspoilt natural beaches in Southern France are close to us, just 35 minutes away by car. Within sight of the house are the ruins of a 12th century castle.
The house lies directly on a walking trail, so you can walk, hike or cycle to your heart's content.

Corbières is a renowned wine region in the far south-east of France – a true secret tip among wine connoisseurs – and also an ideal destination for swimmers, cyclists, hikers, riders, surfers, climbers and nature-lovers. As well-travelled francophiles, we finally settled on Corbières because it is unparalleled – not only in France - in its unspoilt beauty and variety. In our region you will find never-ending clean (Blue Flag) sandy beaches und spectacular cliffs, but also beach bars where you can round off your day's swimming with tapas and local wines. Lovers of oysters also know that our coast is one of the oyster hot-spots of Southern France.
By the way, the Costa Brava, with some sensationally beautiful bays, is only an hour and a half away. If you want, we can give you travel tips.

Lush meadows of flowers and herbs, wooded hills and mountains, as well as clear streams and wild rivers, but naturally vineyards too characterize the landscape of Corbières. But this beautiful region has even more to offer: among the best Mediterranean beaches in Southern France; the famous Cathar castles; the city of Carcassonne (a UNESCO World Heritage Site); the Canal-du-Midi; the nearby Pyrenees; the Costa Brava (Spain) and not forgetting the lovely little town of Narbonne with its impressive cathedral, the famous Art Nouveau market hall and some first class cuisine. Picturesque alleyways and squares, along with the Canal de la Robine, are typical of this charming town, as are nice boutiques, cafes, restaurants and delicatessens. It has something for everyone.
