Holiday destination
Zaostrog has a really long history consedirng the archaeological findings like the relief of the God Mitra and writings by Byzantine emperor Konstantin Porfirogenet about the fortification Ostrog, situated highly below the mount after which Zaostrog later got its name. During the years, Zaostrog became a desirable vacation spot due to its geographic location, clean sea and beautiful pebble beaches. The most recognisable feature of Zaostrog is an old Franciscan monastery- also a museum with ethnological collection and a library.
Zaostrog is a preserved, littoral, almost untouched area which offers a quiet holiday far away from the burdening modern life- in other words it's an ideal location to explore Dalmatia as it once was.

Wir haben mit zwei Kindern und Großeltern eine Woche hier verbracht. Das Haus liegt malerisch am Hang und bietet eine Panoramaaussicht auf die Küste und Berge. Wir haben uns sofort richtig wohl gefühlt. Es war top sauber und ausgestattet. Zaostrog liegt super für Ausflüge wie Mostar, Bosnien und Split. Das Örtchen hat authentischen Charme, eine tolle Küste und es gibt ringsum Wanderwege mit spektakulären Ausblicken. Wir haben uns echt sauwohl gefühlt und möchten gerne wieder dorthin. Mario war unser Ansprechpartner vor Ort und sorgte dafür, dass keine Wünsche offen blieben. Ein zutiefst freundlicher und kompetenter Helfer, Auskunftgeber und touristischer Berater. Von der Eigentümerfamilie gab es zur Begrüßung obendrein noch einen wirklich schönen Willkommensgruß.

We spent 2 amazing weeks at beautiful villa in September and it was fabulous. The location is so peaceful and the views stunning from every angle. The villa itself is beautiful, modern, stylish and tastefully furnished and equipped with everything you could possibly need. Matko himself is the most helpful and attentive host you could wish for and couldn't do enough for us, without being in any way intrusive.The bread and basket of vegetables he left for us were a lovely touch. Everything is spotlessly clean and we had more clean towels, beach towels and sheets that we could possibly use. Out of all of the villa's around Europe that we have stayed in, this is my absolute favourite. We were so sad to leave and will definitely come again. Have already recommended it to many friends. T
