The Fischland-Darß-Zingst peninsula lies between Rostock and Stralsund. Prerow is very central and offers a wide range of excursion options in addition to the white sandy beach. It is about 1 km to the Darß forest and about 4 km to the west beach. The area is ideal for cycling. In spring and autumn you can watch the cranes migrating.
