Santa Croce is an ideal starting point for excursions to Lake Bolsena with the villages of Marta, Capodimonte, and Montefiascone, to Viterbo, Pitigliano, Sovana, and Sorano (Etruscan Tombs), Saturnia with its hot sulfur springs, Civita di Bagnoregio, Bomarzo, Todi, Gubbio, Assisi, Perugia, Tarquinia, and to the Tyrrhenian Mediterranean coast, Monte Argentario.
Getting there
On the Autostrada A1 towards Rome, exit Orvieto, then continue to Sugano/Canonica.
Fly to Rome. Train to Orvieto.
