Other recreational opportunities
Tara is situated in a Mountain Nature Reserve which can only be accessed by bicycle or foot, it is a wonderful place to explore and there are many tracks to follow. Skiing. There are launch points in the Reserve for hang gliders and para gliders, bikes can be hired. There are historic Museum villages and beautiful mountain villages around.
Holiday destination
Walking through the Primeval Nature Reserve that surrounds Tara is amazing. You can reach the top of the mountain where the ski lift and hotel restaurant is with a 50 minute walk along the trail through the forest and meadows. From here there are many marked trails or you can stroll along the lane at the top of the world as it meanders past small farming communities and old wooden churches and handy hikers bars and restaurants. This area is a paradise for those who appreciate the wonders of a forest nature reserve and there are literally hundreds of miles of forestry roads and paths to explore by bike or walking.
