Once upon a time, the Bay of Carvoeiro Today it attracts sun worshippers, seashell collectors, golfers, water sports enthusiasts, tennis players, hikers, sailers, riders, those who like oranges and those who plan to go on a jeep safari.
In and around Carvoeiro you'll find five diversified sandy beaches that are embedded by imposing cliffs. The lookout point "Algar Seco" consists of passages and caves the seawater has carved out of the rocks. The largest sea caves in the Algarve are located east of "Algar Seco".
A cliff path also winds its way eastward, leading to the chapel "Senhora da Rocha" (a gorgeous place for Weddings), and 5 km westward, to "Ferragudo" (fado concerts). This cliff path connects all the beaches.
People like to visit Carvoeiro in the "low season" and spend the winter here as the beaches and bathing bays are surrounded by 20-30m high shell limestone rocks and thus protected from the cool north wind that blows in the low season, so one can still go and lie on the beach.
Excursion destinations: Alcalar (megalith monuments), Lagoa (Arte Algarve, an art exhibition), the historic Silves and the Serra de Monchique (a range of rolling mountains), Alcantarilha (Chapel of Bones), Sagres (south-western most tip of Europe) and Cabo de Sao Vincente (the Cape).
Another option are day trips to Lisbon or Sevilla.

Liebe Elena, nach einem traumhaften Urlaub a der Algarve sind wir wieder gut daheim gelandet. Wir fühlten uns in Ihrem Haus wie im Paradies. Es blieben wirklich keine Wünsche offen. Das Haus ist mit allem ausgestattet, was man benötigt, und ist wunderbar geräumig und liebevoll gestaltet. Auch den Kindern hat es gefallen, natürlich stand der Pool ganz hoch im Kurs. Die Lage ist ebenfalls wunderbar ruhig und der Weg zum Strand bzw. Zentrum ist auch gut schaffen, ein bisschen Bewegung im Urlaub ist sicherlich gut. Wir danken für die wirklich gute und freundliche Betreuung und bis zum nächsten Mal. Freundliche Grüße

Liebe Frau Laranjeira,
Ja wir sind gut und erholt wieder zu Hause angekommen und setzen unseren Urlaub bei 22 Grad in der Eifel fort.
Ja, die Woche bei ihnen war gut und sehr schön. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Vor allem für den kleinen Mann war die Woche ein nicht enden wollendes Abenteuer. Aber auch alle andern waren vollauf begeistert.
