Especially worth mentioning are the excellent tourism attractions of the region, top hiking trails begin directly at the lodges, the Steinbach reservoir is only 1 km away as the crow flies, the national park is only 4 km away, the gemstone and garrison town of Idar-Oberstein with its famous rock church, Oberstein Castle is a quarter of an hour's drive, the Moselle to Bernkastel-Kues is about 30 minutes, Bostalsee with its wide range of recreational activities is 35 minutes. Various mining shafts and castle ruins are waiting to be discovered. Numerous restaurants and cafés in the surrounding area offer a wide range of food, from breakfast to an extensive dinner menu.
More than 20 museums in the surrounding area of the Steinbach See Lodges are waiting to be discovered. Cyclists and mountain bikers get their money's worth on special bike paths and bike parks, a trolley tour on a former railway line is very popular. Children have a lot of fun in the animal parks, riding stables, playgrounds, summer luge runs and much more: A special experience for the children are the gemstone mines, where children can dig for gemstones on gemstone prospecting fields.
Trier is only 50 minutes away, Koblenz, the Upper Middle Rhine Valley with the Loreley and the Rhineland-Palatinate state capital Mainz are only an hour away. It only takes 75 minutes to get to Luxembourg with its famous "Müllerthal" and France.
The activities offered in the area surrounding Steinbach See Lodges guarantee a truly diverse holiday. And if the weather turns out to be really poor, the Bad-Weather-Plan makes for wonderful days, as there are over 30 different activities that can be undertaken in the event of rain.

Holiday destination
The lodges are located in the Edelsteinland, in the immediate vicinity of Hunsrück-Hochwald National Park, and are surrounded by the wine-growing regions of Mosel, Rhine and Nahe.
The Steinbach See Lodges are located in the village of Langweiler, often referred to by the locals as the "Pearl of the Alpine Forest" due to its good location and the view of the Steinbach reservoir and national park.
In the village you will find what most holidaymakers are looking for: Rest and relaxation. Langweiler is a village under the rubric of "The world is all right." There is a beer garden in an inner courtyard of a former monastery, three playgrounds, a soccer field and top hiking trails - the European long-distance hiking trail and the Saar-Hunsrück Climb lead through Langweiler. You can start many hikes directly in the village. Due to the altitude of over 500 metres, snow can often be expected in Langweiler during the winter.
The transport connections and the location are excellent, in just a few minutes you are already in places like Morbach, Idar-Oberstein, in the winter sports area Erbeskopf, in the national park or on the Hunsrück-Höhenstraße, which has been converted into a highway. Several of the surrounding villages are easily accessible by foot. Since the road infrastructure in the Hunsrück is well developed and the roads are in excellent condition (and there's not that much traffic) you have a lot of attractions "right on your doorstep." Trier, Koblenz, Mainz, France or Luxembourg can be reached by car in under one hour. You'll be surprised at how quiet and convenient your holiday at the Steinbach See Lodges will be.
