Ronco sopra Ascona is one of the most beautiful villages in Ticino. This is for a number of reasons. Its development from an original farming village into a getaway for artists and holidaymakers; the dreamy view of Bellinzona over Ascona; the Brissago Islands over to Cannobio and Luino; the lush vegetation; the subtropical, Mediterranean climate; and the Church of S. Martino with its gigantic, shade-giving chestnut tree. Enjoy the breath-taking panorama, the palm trees, the sensational culinary offerings in countless grottos, the cultural attractions in Ascona and Locarno, hikes high above Lake Maggiore or trips out into nearby Italy.
Getting there
By car: You'll find public parking spaces available on the Via Barcone. There's also a garage at the start of the Via Barcone just in case you can't find a nearby public parking space during the high season. By train: Ronco sopra Ascona is approx. 10 km away from Locarno railway station and can easily be reached by bus (line 314) or by taxi. You can travel from Ronco sopra Ascona to the railway terminus at Locarno by bus (line 314) or by taxi. Access to the Casa Garofani: Please note that it isn't possible to drive right up to the house. The property is accessed via a staircase. You have to summit 170 steps to get to the front door. But it's certainly worth the climb! You'll be rewarded with a unique panoramic view, a large house with a separate studio apartment, and a large garden with a refreshing pool.

Wir haben unsere Ferien sehr genossen. Wir konnten auf der Rasenfläche Federball spielen, uns im Pool abkühlen, in der Lounge und in den Liegestühlen relaxen und die unglaubliche Aussicht geniessen! Wir konnten Abends lange auf der Terrasse sitzen, dem Glockenspiel der Kirche lauschen und die Seele baumeln lassen. Der Aufstieg lohnt sich und am Ende der Woche überwindet man die Treppen viel ringer. Das Haus und die Küche sind praktisch eingerichtet und die offene Küche ist ideal um mit Freunden zu kochen und einfach eine gute Zeit zu verbringen! Wir hoffen, bald wieder unbeschwerte Tage im Casa Garofani erleben zu können!

Wir haben es bereits zweimal während den Osterferien genossen! Das Haus ist auch für zwei Familien (oder auch mehr) gut strukturiert, sodass jeder seine Ecke finden kann. Man hat viel Platz für gemeinsame Zeiten - auf der Terrasse, aber auch im Haus selbst. Die Küche ist sehr gut eingerichtet, offen, sodass man kochen und sich unterhalten kann. Das Studio war ein Plus, sodass sich eine Partei auch zurückziehen konnte. Die Terrasse und die Aussicht laden zum Verweilen ein. Wunderbare Wanderungen in der Umgebung, auch mit dem Velo gute Touren zu machen. Die Vermieter waren unkompliziert, hilfreich und sehr freundlich. Alles in allem jederzeit zu empfehlen! Einzig - die Treppen zum Haus - ein kleines Training, aber das ist in den Ferien auch willkommen!
