In the mood to visit the Harzbude?
We took over the apartment in autumn 2019 and have since "turned it inside out" for the very first time. The old bathroom was renovated, the rest of the apartment was completely redone and brought up to date. The old kitchen was replaced and there are now 140cm bunk beds in the bedroom. The apartment became our little shack, all that dust and grime became loose and relaxed. A place to feel good in. A place to slow down. A place to unwind and still not have to do without any amenities. The in-house sauna and swimming pool take care of that. And if you want, we've got WiFi or streaming services like Netflix.
The Harzbude can be used as a double or two-bed apartment, because it has a 140cm wide double bunk bed in the bedroom. So you can either cuddle comfortably together or each person has enough space to spread out.
Our "trading library" in the living room is a little gem. We gathered a lot of family, friends and acquaintances and were able to put together a nice selection of books across all genres. When you run out of holiday reading, simply take a book off the shelf and leave your own - if you want - in exchange. So the selection is constantly on the move and remains varied. There is also a selection (belonging to the apartment) of books thematically related to the Harz: travel and hiking guides, cookbooks, but also a copy of the "Harzreise" and "Tales from the Brothers Grimm".
Note: the use of the swimming pool is currently not possible.

The Harzbude is in the immediate vicinity of one of the largest national forest parks in Germany, the Harz National Park, in the heart of Braunlage. Cable car, town centre, spa park and ice rink are within walking distance, as are ski and bike rentals.
By car (recommended):
From the north and north-west
via the A7/A2 and A36 from Braunschweig via Bad Harzburg (B4)
From the east
via the A14 and A36 via Blankenburg (B27)
From the south and south-west
via the A7 from Göttingen via Herzberg (B27) or the A38 from Nordhausen via Bad Sachsa (B243)
Free parking is possible approx. 100m away on Elbingeröder Straße. It is possible to stop in the yard for loading and unloading.
You can travel by train via Bad Harzburg, Wernigerode or Walkenried and continue from there by bus. Alternatively, take the Harz narrow-gauge railway to Elend station and from there continue by taxi (approx. 6km).

Guests can cancel the rental contract; the declaration of cancellation must be made in writing (by email or letter). The time at which the landlord receives the declaration of cancellation is decisive for determining the cancellation fee. Discounted last minute bookings cannot be cancelled or changed.
If the guest does cancel the contract, the following fees apply as agreed:
If you cancel up to 28 days before the start of the rental period = free; if you cancel up to 14 days before arrival = 50%, thereafter 80% of the rental price.
If there's a general ban on accommodation due to Covid-19 that prevents you from coming, regardless of the time = free cancellation and reimbursement of any payments made thus far.
The price includes one linen set per person with bed linen, bath towel, hand towel and shower mat.
The city of Braunlage charges tourist tax. This is collected on site.

Moin! Mein Name ist Georg und ich habe 2016 den Harz für mich "wiederentdeckt". 2019 ergab sich dann die Möglichkeit, diese Wohnung zu kaufen. Inzwischen zu zweit haben wir dann die Wohnung renoviert und eingerichtet und beschlossen, Sie auch als Ferienwohnung zu vermieten. Schließlich steht sie die meiste Zeit im Jahr leer. Wir hoffen also, dass Ihr schöne Tage in unserer Bude im Oberharz verbringen könnt!
