Deltawerke
Wer mit dem Auto nach Zeeland fährt, überquert wahrscheinlich eins oder mehrere der Deltawerke. Die Dämme und Schleusen wurden nach der Sturmflutkatastrophe 1953 gebaut. Das bekannteste ist das Oosterschelde-Sturmflutwehr. Die Konstruktion mit Pfeilern und Toren ist weit über die Grenzen der Niederlande hinaus bekannt.
Einen Tag lang an den Stränden Zeelands faulenzen – einfach herrlich. Hier kommt man zur Ruhe. Mit einem Buch auf dem Handtuch oder einem Getränk am Strandpavillon. Ein langer Strandspaziergang mit dem Hund. Oder im Galopp durch die Brandung mit dem eigenen Pferd. Auch das ist an den Stränden Zeelands möglich. Auf den Schildern an den Dünenübergängen steht genau, wann welche Tiere den Strand betreten dürfen.
