The slopes of the Grosser Arber and the adjacent ski areas make the hearts of winter sports fans beat faster. Well-groomed cross-country ski trails, cleared winter hiking trails and natural toboggan runs require skill and sometimes even courage. But there are also excursions to the surrounding area: Lohberg Bayerwald Animal Park, Arber mountain railway, Falkenstein National Park Centre with House of the Wilderness and animal enclosures, forest canopy walk and treetop path in the Bavarian Forest, Arnbruck Glass Village, Passau, excursions to the nearby Czech Republic.
