The traditional Stünzelfest (district animal show festival) takes place on the first weekend in June, attracting thousands of visitors to the forest festival site in Stünzel. The wool market in May and the bread market (Thanksgiving Festival) in October are also crowd pullers in the city.
The Wittgenstein Christmas markets are also popular, especially at Berleburg Castle, the ancestral home of the Sayn-Wittgenstein family. The range of sports on offer ranges from mountain biking, golfing, skiing, gliding, swimming to rock climbing.

The Wittgensteiner Bergland with its numerous hiking trails lets you forget the hectic everyday life. Encounters with nature and creatures take place on the forest sculpture trail or the Rothaarsteig. Alles super, sehr sauber und gut ausgestattet. Perfekt für große Familien. Die Gastgeberin war sehr nett und jederzeit erreichbar. Auch an den Hund wurde gedacht.
Das einzige Mango war, das es keine großen Pfannen und Töpfe gab für die Anzahl der Personen.
