Holiday destination
The valley station of the Rauriser Hochalmbahnen is just a few minutes walk from the Birkenhof. In the winter peak season you can also comfortably take the ski bus to the valley station.
Small and larger hikes can be made directly from the Birkenhof. A launderette is located right next door in the “Alpenrose” inn. Detergent is available here for a small fee.
For excursions to the other valleys in Rauris there is a valley bus.
Getting there
From Salzburg, approx. 1.5 hours, from Munich, approx. 2.5 hours, from Innsbruck approx. 2.5 hours, via A12 and B311 via Saalfelden, approx. 3 hours.
Via the Gerlos Pass take the A12/E45/E60, Zillertal Str./B169, B165, B168 to Zell am See and the B311 to Taxenbach.
In Taxenbach turn into the Rauris valley. In Rauris take exit south, always straight ahead. The Birkenhof is located on the left side of the street.
