Holiday destination
The farm is located in the middle of nature, surrounded by meadows and forest on the Col de Sainte-Marie-Aux-Mines. There is a very well developed, far-reaching network of hiking trails. Mountain bikers and motorcyclists (on the mountain roads) will also get their money's worth. Paragliding: launch site very close by. In winter you can go snowshoeing, skiing, cross-country skiing and sledging.
Although it's extremely quiet and secluded on the farm, it's also very easy to get down to the town, taking just 5 minutes by car. When you get there, you'll find a bakery/pâtisserie, various shops, restaurants, a wine bar and a supermarket.... all waiting for you to visit....
Getting there
Coming from Sainte Marie Aux Mines, head towards Col de Sainte Marie Aux Mines (St. Die). Not through the tunnel!
Just after Sainte Marie Aux Mines, turn left onto a small road (signs: Chalet Pierre, Quad, Equitation). Follow this through the forest. You will then come to a small bridge, after this bridge do NOT continue to follow the signs for Chalet Pierre but turn immediately right up the narrow paved road that goes alongside the stream (sign dead end). Here you follow the narrow tarmac road to the end, there is a blue iron gate and then a gravel path. Here is our farm!

I am Austrian by birth and have been living in Alsace for over 20 years now. For many years, I've rented out an atypical holiday home (a former old monastery) to holidaymakers here in Alsace. But more recently, my family and I have embarked on new adventures... For some time now, we (my husband, our daughter and I) have realized our dream of living in the midst of unspoilt natural surroundings with our animals - the farm in the hills above Sainte-Marie-Aux-Mines captivated us from the very start, even though it was a lot of work for us to renovate and design everything in accordance with our vision...
Come to our farm and you can simply leave the hustle and bustle of everyday life behind you and just relax, listen to the chirping of the birds, hear the murmur of the water in the nearby stream, doze lazily on a sun lounger and read .... do something for your fitness - all kinds of hikes are possible here, ranging from short outings to full-day treks.... and if you like sightseeing, you won't be disap...
