Directly opposite the park is an outdoor pool which you can use free of charge. Less than 500 meters away is the recreational area "de Spokedam" with a lovely sandy beach. The village of Noordwolde is 500 meters away, offering a supermarket, bakery, butcher, other shops, a bank, and restaurants. The surrounding area provides ample opportunities for hiking or cycling. There are also several interesting museums, forests, playgrounds, and an indoor swimming pool nearby. You can enjoy a delightful day trip to Giethoorn, the Frisian Eleven Cities, the National Park "De Weerribben," or the IJsselmeer coast.
