The seaside region of Balagne is the most beautiful in Corsica, much more authentic, less crowded and overbuilded then the south of the island. It has crystal clear beaches like in the caribbean, high montain's like the Swiss Alps and medieval hiltop villages like in Italy.
The Balagne area is also called the garden of Corsica with it's beautiful oliver trees dating from the Roman time and it's production of oranges and lemons. With its medieval hilltop villages, the,Pigna music festival, San Antonino one of its most ancient towns, the roman chapel in Lumio. Calenzana with the chapel of St Croix, the grand procession of St Restitude, it's music festival, the start of the GR20 trail, the convent of Alzipratu now the name of one of France best red and white wines. Lunghignano famous for its former oil mill, Moncale and the best honey of Corsica, Aregno and its almond fest.
Calvi set between mountains and sea, its bars, restaurants, shops bordered by a protected and wild coast, numerous white sandy beaches and crystal turquoise waters like Ostriconi, Salecia, Bodri, Revellata surended with a beautiful and unspoiled nature.
Cateri with it's Franciscan convent still inhabited by a religious orders, the forest of Bonifato, the wine growing region, the wild scenery of the Agriates desert, local bio markets, and rich history of the region.
Visting by boat the reserve of Scandola (protected by the Unesco) is a must, the Fango stream (Unesco protected) with its rock swimming pools is fantastic.

Arrival is on Saturday, when the rentals has been confirmed by the client, the owner will send a contract in duplicate, one of which should be returned to the owner with a 30% deposit to be paid by bank transfer and the balance 8 weeks before arrival. A returnable deposit of €1500 in cheque or travellers cheque or €1000 in cash will be required on arrival against damage to fixtures and fittings. In case of Covid travel problems deposit and balance will be refund.
AIRPORTS AND FERRIES: The airport at 20 minutes from the house is Calvi Sainte Catherine or Bastia at one hour and a half drive is another solution. You can search for charterflights from every UK airports between April and October direct to Bastia. Search the Internet for thomsonfly, holiday options, charter flights.The ferries company are SNCM or Corsica ferries from Marseille Toulon Nice to Calvi, IleRousse or Bastia. Also Livourno Italia to Bastia with corsica ferries twice a day. Alternatively, LOW COST SCHEDULED AIRLINES fly to Nice and Marseille where you can fly to Bastia or Calvi ,with Air France
