Other recreational opportunities
• From the house you can walk through the forest to the popular kitesurfing beach 't Mirnser Klif in 10 minutes. Here you can of course learn to kitesurf but also swim safely in the lake.
• There are also other beaches nearby that you can reach by car, such as De Hege Gerzen in Oudemirdum (5 km), which has various facilities and a pavilion for a drink and a snack. Other kitesurfing spots in the immediate area are Lemmer, Stavoren, Hindeloopen, Workum (it Soal), Makkum and Kornwerderzand. All within a driving distance of 15 to 35 minutes.
• A very spacious storage/drying room is available at the villa upon request for kite/windsurfing equipment and bicycles, for example.
• The area is ideal for sporty guests, so you can take long (forest) walks, mountain biking, golf (Gaasterland Golf Club is only 5 km) or horse riding. You can also cycle part of the Elfstedentocht, such as to Stavoren and Hindelopen.
• Take trips to the Frisian lakes and visit picturesque villages such as Joure (30 min.), Lemmer (20 min.) and Woudsend (15 min.).
• Spend a day renting a sloop or sailing boat on the lakes and bring your picnic lunch. A fun experience for young and old!
• Finally, you can learn all about the history and nature of this beautiful area at the Mar en Klif visitor center in (Oudemirdum)!

The villa is also a perfect starting point for discovering the diverse surroundings. A lovely walk through the forest takes you to a beach on the IJsselmeer for swimming or water sports, the Mirnser Klif. A hotspot for kitesurfers of all levels due to the shallow water and often favorable wind conditions. You can also enjoy the Elfstedentocht for hiking, cycling, mountain biking, horse riding, golfing or cycling. There are a number of restaurants in the area, picturesque villages nearby on the Frisian lakes and within a 10 minute drive there are several supermarkets and a bakery that will deliver bread to your home.
In short, this is an attractive and comfortable home surrounded by beautiful nature with many excursion options nearby.
