The health resort Agra (approx. 674 m above sea level) is considered one of the most beautiful mountain villages in the lake district due to its location and scenic surroundings. There are beautiful hiking trails in the immediate vicinity. Agra is about 4 km from the lake and just under 15 minutes by car from Luino (approx. 12,000 inhabitants). Luino is the most important town on the eastern shore of Lake Maggiore and offers many suggestions for your stay with its restaurants, pizzerias, cafés, bars, and shops, the lakeside promenade lined with old plane trees, the romantic old town, the boat landing with marina, and of course the famous large weekly market on Wednesdays. With the passenger ferry, you can take wonderful trips, for example, to Locarno, Ascona, Intra, Stresa, or the Borromean Islands, and other destinations are also quickly reached.
