Through a little wooden bridge, you can access your private garden in Madeira Island and the cottage Tenda – a studio with a kitchenette, a bathroom and a large balcony that occupies the entire width of the house. A floor-to-ceiling opening glass wall, which gives access to the great balcony will provide you unbelievable and fantastic views over the Atlantic Ocean. Lying in bed or even resting in the hammock, only the sea will be in front of you to appreciate the calm and the immensity of mother nature. Enjoying a meal with a glass of good Madeiran wine in Tenda’s balcony is an experience to be savoured and you will certainly love it!
The cottage has free wireless internet and access to the gardens and pool area. If you wish to use the aromatic herbs from the orchard, you´re Welcome! Outside, there´s a parking place for your car. 100 m from the cottage, there is a local store.

Here in Calhau Grande, we have a big passion: maintain our gardens and orchards colourful all year. They contribute to the balance of our ecosystem, to allow a good contact with the nature, to enjoy the pure air and appreciate all the best that our local agriculture can offer us.
The cottage Tenda is situated in the western part of Madeira Island, Calheta in the village of Arco da Calheta.
Leaving the airport, follow the expressway in the direction of Funchal - Ribeira Brava - Ponta do Sol - Arco da Calheta. There is a roundabout, follow the direction Ledo. Turn left onto "Rocha de Gouveia" Street. 1 km ahead on your right, there is a sign stating "Calhau Grande", which points the way to the car park of the cottages.
