Holiday destination
Cascina Borchina is located on a hill and offers a breathtaking view of Lake Maggiore. It's really hard to describe in words. That's why we've taken a lot of photos (all from our estate, not viewpoints) so you can have an idea of how beautiful our views are, as well as several pictures of the countryside, but it's only part of what we do Offer. We assure you that it is even more beautiful in "nature"!
Getting there
Cascina Borchina can be reached by car in about 10 minutes from Maccagno and its beaches (about 4 km from the hill). You have to climb up the hill for about five minutes, towards Campagnano. Before Campagnano turn into a forest road. Maccagno is a famous holiday destination from spring to late autumn, due to its proximity to the border with Switzerland (about 6 km). Maccagno is a small town on Lake Maggiore, which offers a lot: free climber in every season right on the rocks on the Lago, hiking and cycling (road bike and mountain bike) and the famous market on Wednesday in Luino (about 5 km away). You can visit the Museum of Contemporary Art, take long walks on the lake, go swimming, boating, pedal boating, beach volleyball or tennis, (right on the lake) or dine in good restaurants and pizzerias. The nearest restaurant is located 1.5 km from the finca. In spring, summer and autumn, Maccagno offers departures by boat to Stresa, Cannobbio, Locarno and the Borromean Islands (... and many other beautiful places). Cascina Borchina is ideal for long walks, hikes and free climbers, but also for shopping and sightseeing in the cities. By car Lugano (Switzerland) is only 35 minutes away; to Locarno (Switzerland) it is 30 minutes, Milan in about 1:20 in the car or train; Lake Como, about 1 hour and 15 minutes. Near Lugano (Mendrisio) there is also an outlet with over 80 stores open all year round. Maccagno has a post office, a pharmacy, a bakery, a pastry shop, a bank, a newsagent and a supermarket, a laundry and a car-sharing service, several restaurants and bars. A wonderful place for an exciting holiday!

Wir hatten das Vergnügen, in einer wunderbaren Ferienwohnung am Lago Maggiore zu übernachten. Die Aussicht auf den See war atemberaubend und bot bei Sonnenaufgang und Sonnenuntergang spektakuläre Panoramen. Die Wohnung war makellos sauber und kombinierte modernen Komfort mit stilvollem Design. Jedes Detail war durchdacht und schuf ein einladendes Ambiente. Die Gastgeberin war sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit, stets bemüht, uns einen unvergesslichen Aufenthalt zu bereiten. Ein weiteres Highlight war der große Garten. Wir genossen es, im Freien zu frühstücken und die Ruhe der Natur zu erleben. Die Lage war perfekt für Erholungssuchende, abseits des Trubels. Die stilvolle, saubere Unterkunft, die fantastische Aussicht und die herzliche Gastfreundschaft machten unseren Urlaub unvergesslich.

ein wunderbar liebevoll errichtetes Paradies auf einem perfekten Sonnenplateau über dem Lago. Alles mit viel Liebe und Herzblut gestaltet und perfekt für eine Auszeit alleine oder zu zweit. Es fehlt an nichts und man fühlt sich vom ersten Moment an willkommen. Bettina ist immer erreichbar falls doch ein Wunsch offen ist. Ein absolut schöner Ort der so sicher seines Gleichen sucht.
