Holiday destination
Cascina Borchina is located on a hill and offers a breathtaking view of Lake Maggiore. It's really hard to describe in words. That's why we've taken a lot of photos (all from our estate, not viewpoints) so you can have an idea of how beautiful our views are, as well as several pictures of the countryside, but it's only part of what we do Offer. We assure you that it is even more beautiful in "nature"!
Getting there
Cascina Borchina can be reached by car in about 10 minutes from Maccagno and its beaches (about 4 km from the hill). You have to climb up the hill for about five minutes, towards Campagnano. Before Campagnano turn into a forest road.
Maccagno is a famous holiday destination from spring to late autumn, due to its proximity to the border with Switzerland (about 6 km). Maccagno is a small town on Lake Maggiore, which offers a lot: free climber in every season right on the rocks on the Lago, hiking and cycling (road bike and mountain bike) and the famous market on Wednesday in Luino (about 5 km away). You can visit the Museum of Contemporary Art, take long walks on the lake, go swimming, boating, pedal boating, beach volleyball or tennis, (right on the lake) or dine in good restaurants and pizzerias. The nearest restaurant is located 1.5 km from the finca. In spring, summer and autumn, Maccagno offers departures by boat to Stresa, Cannobbio, Locarno and the Borromean Islands (... and many other beautiful places).
Cascina Borchina is ideal for long walks, hikes and free climbers, but also for shopping and sightseeing in the cities. By car Lugano (Switzerland) is only 35 minutes away; to Locarno (Switzerland) it is 30 minutes, Milan in about 1:20 in the car or train; Lake Como, about 1 hour and 15 minutes.
Near Lugano (Mendrisio) there is also an outlet with over 80 stores open all year round.
Maccagno has a post office, a pharmacy, a bakery, a pastry shop, a bank, a newsagent and a supermarket, a laundry and a car-sharing service, several restaurants and bars.

Host informationI am originally from the Ruhr area. 30 years ago, I met my husband here in Maccagno on vacation ... Since then, Lake Maggiore is no longer my holiday destination!

Bei einem Urlaub in Cascina Borchina passt einfach alles! Die Vermieter Bettina und ihr Mann Andrea sind sehr nett und zuvorkommend! Die Ferienwohnung liegt äußerst idyllisch über dem Lago Maggiore und bietet alles was das Herz begehrt und das in einer Qualität, die ihresgleichen sucht. Das gemütliche Dorf Maccagno, das direkt am Lago Maggiore liegt ist in 10 Minuten per Auto zu erreichen. Dort gibt es neben dem großen, sauberen Strand und zwei bemerkenswert guten Eisdielen alles, was man im Urlaub braucht :) Die Gegend rund um Maccagno einigt sich wunderbar zum Wandern, Entspannen, Entdecken... Kurzum: In Cascina Borchina ist ein unvergesslicher Urlaub garantiert!

Wir haben 11 Tage in einer wunderschönen Umgebung, in besonderer Lage über dem See und mit beeindruckender Betreuung durch das Vermieterpaar (vielen Dank an Andrea und Bettina) verbracht. Die Appartements und die Wohnung sind sehr liebevoll ausgestattet und es fehlte uns an nichts. Die große Liegewiese lädt zum Verweilen ein und auch in der näheren Umgebung gibt es viel zu sehen. Wir können die Unterkunft nur wärmstens empfehlen und kommen gern wieder.
