Ideal surroundings for kitesurfers and windsurfers as well as other water sports fans, many jogging and hiking opportunities right on the doorstep, or how about a horseback ride over the almost deserted beaches?
Villa DUXCAAR is located on the Cote des Abers in Saint Pabu. Directly along the western shore of the Aber Benoit, the white houses of the village are situated in a hilly landscape. Several white beaches (Plage d Erleac'h) invite you to sunbathe or go for a beach walk. The central location in northwest Brittany makes many excursions possible, to the Crozon peninsula or to the pink granite coast or the Parc Amorique with its high moors, fairy forests and deserted plateaus or to the markets of picturesque villages.
Very impressive are also stays in autumn and winter, when the natural forces of the Atlantic create five-metre-high waves over which kite surfers fly with their colourful sails, and after a long walk in the salt air, you warm up again in front of the crackling fire of the fireplace with a good glass of red wine.
But already in February you can enjoy the first impressions of spring with blossoming camellias, daffodils, broom bushes etc. in the countless small bays of the "Pays des Abers" and the mild air of the Gulf Stream.
When the water and wind are up, the 'Plage de Erleac'h' is popular with kite surfers and windsurfers. If you don't surf yourself, keep an eye on this impressive sport. You can go for long walks directly on the beach or in the associated dune landscape and can reach neighbouring beaches directly from our 'house beach'. For example, enjoy a few fresh local oysters at one of the many picnic spots along the beach, accompanied by a seaweed salad and a cider, and watch the sun dip yellow-red in the gentle waves of the Atlantic at around 10.30 pm in summer.
The villa is located in the climatically unique, Breton Finistère 5km west of Lannilis.
The harbour town of Brest can be reached quickly by car and is about 30 km away. The harbour town of Brest not only offers shopping and restaurants, but also the famous 'Oceanopolis' (the aquarium adventure park), located next to the marina, which you should definitely visit.
In addition to Brest, the ferry town of Roscoff, with its old British granite cottages, promises a great day out. This is where the big ferries (through the English Channel) take off and land to nearby England or even as far as Ireland. Roscoff is about 50 km east of Saint Pabu. If you don't want to book a crossing to England straight away, visit the 'Ile de Batz', the boats run all the time.
The location in Finistère is a guarantee for fresh fish and wonderful seafood. Just a few kilometres from Saint Pabu, the famous oysters of 'Aber Wrac`h' and 'Aber Benoit' are raised; some claim the best oysters in Brittany (Prat ar Coum).
Whatever your means of transport, neither the international airport, the TGV station, nor the motorway are more than 30 km away.
The region is easily accessible by car, train, TGV and air.
Your holiday destination is located in the north of Finistère, about 30 km northeast of Brest.
The house can always be occupied on the day of arrival from 4.30 p.m. - the departure time is in the main season until 10 a.m., so that our cleaning team has enough time to prepare the house very clean again.
You will receive detailed directions and a contact telephone number where you can call on the day of arrival - of course we will speak German with you on the phone.
Often the approach leads via Paris - and it is usually a good idea to bypass Paris! My tip is to take the Francilienne from Marne la Vallée roughly in the direction of Bordeaux. The Fancillienne is a little longer in terms of distance, but you usually save a lot of time as you are spared traffic jams around and in Paris.
The route continues to Le Mans and via Laval to Rennes. From Laval you drive about 300 km free of charge on the RN 12 / E 50. After St. Brieuc you will reach Morlaix.
From Morlaix you have about one hour to drive until you arrive. I will personally meet you or one of my colleagues at the villa to hand over the keys. Please call me briefly when you reach Morlaix, so that the handover is punctual and uncomplicated.
