Across from the farm, you can fish in the Lutz or explore the water-rich area with a canoe. Gaasterland is one of the valuable cultural landscapes of the Netherlands. The area features a slightly hilly landscape with forests, lakes, and magnificent meadows. You can enjoy beautiful bike rides or walks through the woods or along the lakes on bicycle paths and quiet country roads. The smallest Frisian city, Sloten, offers many attractions (old fortifications, beautiful mill) and is just a few kilometers from Balk. The other cities of the Frisian Eleven Cities, such as Workum (Jopie Huisman Museum), Hindeloopen (Skating Museum), or Stavoren, are also worth a visit. The village of Balk, with its magnificent town hall and many beautiful gables, offers many amenities: supermarket, bakery, butcher, restaurants, pubs, bicycle and boat rental, churches, banks, and a beautiful beach on Slotermeer (lake). Pets are not allowed in the holiday apartment. A magnificent luxury apartment suitable for 2-10 people in one of the most beautiful areas of Friesland. A unique experience.
